Luke 6:27-28 “Love your enemies…pray for those who mistreat you.” (NLT)
Father – I blew it yesterday. My first and only reaction to a situation I thought was unfair was to be angry at the person causing it. Instead of praying, my reaction was to be glad when another person in the situation chastised the perpetrator. Where was my mercy for him?
Child – You noticed a reaction you “naturally” had. Your old way of thinking took over. Offense is one of the old attitudes that used to control your thoughts. But now you are a new creation and your new nature (Christ within) is showing you My better way.
As soon as you see the offense you are to pray for both the offender and the offended. That releases both to Me for My healing to take place. Offense occurs only because you feel like what has happened has diminished your personal self-worth.
When you pray, you remember and focus on the fact that your worth comes from My love for you. You are fully loved no matter what happens. When you realize that, you can let go of hurts, slights, insults and injustice by giving them to Me. Ask Me to heal you and the one causing the situation. Both need healing.
You are My work in process, Child. Let Me work as I reveal areas that are not yet perfect. It pleases Me that you are learning and are open to My leading.
Listen and follow. Walk closely with Me today and rest in My loving acceptance of you right now, imperfections and all.
Love you bunches, Abba
